DAY 2: SUNDAY, JANUARY 18 — HAVANA
This morning, head out from Miami to Havana on a 50-minute charter flight from Miami to Havana’s José Martí International Airport. Bienvenidos a la Havana! Our group will be met on arrival and transferred to the elegant hotel Melia Cohiba in the oceanfront Vedado district, a vibrant, modern neighborhood of Havana. We’ll have a traditional welcoming beverage and lunch along with a detailed briefing on your itinerary at El Aljibe restaurant. Havana, Cuba’s capital, has captivated travelers for decades. We’ll explore why on an afternoon orientation tour of the city, taking in El Morro Castle, the landmarks of central Havana and a stroll the Malecon promenade. Late in the afternoon we’ll meet with members of Cuba’s 120 Years Club, a unique organization dedicated to seeking avenues to dignified ageing. Club members have set a goal of reaching the age of 120 and begun working toward it. We’ll discover their strategies. This evening, unwind with a Welcome-to-Cuba Dinner at El Torcororo. (L, D)
