DAY 7: FRIDAY, JANUARY 23 — HAVANA

This morning, we visit the Antonio Nunez Jimenez Foundation, to learn about its work to foster an awareness of nature as part of Cuba’s identity. We’ll exchange views with leaders of this leading environmental organization. After a relaxed lunch at the palatial Casa Espanola, we delve into Cuba’s visual arts. A drive takes us to nearby Jaimanitas to visit the home, studio, and community art projects of José Rodríguez Fuster, the Cuban naïve artist specializing in ceramics, painting, drawing, engraving, and graphic design. We’ll hear Mr. Fuster’s perspective on the role of arts in Cuba. Tonight, cocktails and dinner are at the historic and elegant Café del Oriente. (B, L, D)
