You can only sample the abundance of Maui in a day on her shores. Water sports, hiking, nature watching and Hawaiian lunches are all tempting options. Consider dedicating your Maui morning, though, to a trip to Haleakala National Park, whose volcanic crater, sacred in Hawaiian culture, is known as “the house of the Sun.” Mark Twain called Haleakala a place where “Nature works her silent wonders”.
