Get ready for the fun hustle and bustle of Mazatlán. The city is very walkable, and it’s easy to connect with a taxi or bus, or hail Mazatlán’s famous golf cart taxis. If you are a stroller, Mazatlán's 479 buildings on the national historic building register will enrich your exploration. So will a visit to the Mercado Pino Suárez, home of the city’s famous La Changuera, “the shrimp ladies”, who sell celebrated delicacy in vast quantity. You can also buy embroidered blouses (and lucho libre wrestling masks!) in the Mercado.
When getting out of town is on your agenda, you can visit the traditional villages in the Sierra Madre foothills, witnessing the daily life of craftspeople and exploring colonial streets.
Fishing, zip lining, a distillery tour or clambering up Cerro del Crestón, site of the second biggest natural lighthouse in the world, can also enrich your experience of Mazatlán.
